Tampa

Mariann January 14th, 2008

I spent the first week of January in Tampa attending a wedding photographers’ convention.

It was a great experience; I attended about a dozen seminars given by some of the best photographers in the industry, mingled with 500 other photographers from all over the world and even participated in some photo sessions.

Local models traded their time, talent and beauty for images from a dozen or so different photographers. I took part in 3 sessions and had a chance to work with amazing models and all different light conditions (harsh midday light, 7AM early morning light, sunset). I had some new photo equipment to test out and it was a blast to photograph just for the fun of it. Here are some of my favorite images from the different sessions.

(PS. No wedding gowns were harmed or “trashed” during the photo shoots. Some of them got a little wet. )

(PPS.  There was one male model who also brought his girlfriend so some of the more intimate couple’s shots are all real.)

These are so beautiful, I am so impressed (as always)! My favorites (and I took a long time to decide, because I love so many of them) are the one with the bride spinning around on the wooden bridge (that shot is amazing), the one with the bride in sunglasses (you should get royalties from the sunglass brand!) and the one with the bride lying by the window (the lighting is superb).

These shots are fantastic, Mariann! I love the water shots like everyone else, but I really also like the ones that have those pattern overlays. How did you do that?!

    Thank you Gloria!!
We have to make sure to get some spinning ones of you as well!!

    Thanks so much Christine!!
I am glad you like them. The images with the patterns and overlays are textures and I just recently started to play around with them.
If you like them, we can incorporate some of them into the engagement book and wedding album.
