I am proud member of the Wedding Photojournalist Association since July 2006 and this was the second time I entered in their members-only quarterly contests.
One of my entries, captured Lisa and Paul on their wedding day at the cake cutting, placed in the Cake Cutting category!< Big thank you to Lisa and Paul who were having the best time on their wedding day and let me capture this fun image of them!
Here's the winning shot:

It just happens that Thanksgiving and the end of my wedding season falls at the same time this year.
This year was the most exciting wedding season with amazing couples. Six years ago I shot my first wedding in a small Connecticut town. This year I photographed couples and exquisite weddings in the Bahamas, Rhode Island, Shelter Island, Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island and of course New York City.
I would like to thank all my couples for choosing me to photograph their weddings and letting me live my dream and be a photographer.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.
Warmly,
Mariann

Andrea and Eddie’s wedding was very special for several reasons. The bride, Andrea, is the sister of Laura, whose wedding I photographed in June on Long Island. Also, this wedding was my last wedding of the year. It was great celebration to end an amazing season with! The day was a bit of a deja vu since Andrea used the same make up artist, Oksana and hair stylist, Jenn, same photographer (me!) and videographer, Michael Burns, and same priest as Laura did. It was like a big reunion! Andrea and Eddie got married in Saint John’s church in Yonkers and had their reception in the Fountainhead in New Rochelle. Because Eddie is from Brazil, some Brazilian wedding traditions and songs were incorporated into the wedding day. The couple had a warm and sunny wedding day which was quite unusual for New York in mid November.
Wishing much happiness to Andrea and Eddie!
