It just happens that Thanksgiving and the end of my wedding season falls at the same time this year.
This year was the most exciting wedding season with amazing couples. Six years ago I shot my first wedding in a small Connecticut town. This year I photographed couples and exquisite weddings in the Bahamas, Rhode Island, Shelter Island, Westchester, Connecticut, New Jersey, Long Island and of course New York City.
I would like to thank all my couples for choosing me to photograph their weddings and letting me live my dream and be a photographer.
Happy Thanksgiving to you and your families.

Warmly,
Mariann

Andrea and Eddie’s wedding

Mariann November 22nd, 2006

Andrea and Eddie’s wedding was very special for several reasons. The bride, Andrea, is the sister of Laura, whose wedding I photographed in June on Long Island. Also, this wedding was my last wedding of the year. It was great celebration to end an amazing season with! The day was a bit of a deja vu since Andrea used the same make up artist, Oksana and hair stylist, Jenn, same photographer (me!) and videographer, Michael Burns, and same priest as Laura did. It was like a big reunion! Andrea and Eddie got married in Saint John’s church in Yonkers and had their reception in the Fountainhead in New Rochelle. Because Eddie is from Brazil, some Brazilian wedding traditions and songs were incorporated into the wedding day. The couple had a warm and sunny wedding day which was quite unusual for New York in mid November.
Wishing much happiness to Andrea and Eddie!

Wedding celebration in Newport, Rhode Island

Mariann November 18th, 2006

Christine and Dan, a lovely Manhattan couple chose the fairy tale settings of the Rosecliff Mansion in Newport, Rhode Island to exchange vows and say “I do”.
The Rosecliff Mansion is one of the historic Newport mansions which cater to special events like this and it’s amazing inside and out.
Christine looked absolutely beautiful in her Reem Acra gown and deep red velvet Christian Laboutine shoes.
The Mac Chrupcala Orchestra provided the entertainment and I also had the pleasure to hear authentic Egyptian dance music and see people dance to it.
Thank you Christine and Dan for the wonderful opportunity to photograph you and your families on this beautiful occasion.

Happy anniversary to Emily and BJ!

Mariann November 10th, 2006

Happy first anniversary to Emily and BJ who got married in November of 2005.
They exchanged their vows and rings in front of family and close friends in a private West Village penthouse. After the ceremony everyone walked down a few blocks to Jarnac restaurant for the reception.
Emily wore a gorgeous red dress and lavender shoes from Stella McCartney and purple orchids in her hair. She was a truly gorgeous bride. All the flower arrangements were made by Banchet flowers.

Some of my favorite images from their wedding day.

Alison and James tied the knot in Connecticut

Mariann November 5th, 2006

Alison and James got married in Bristol, Connecticut. Despite the rain and thunder all day, it was a truly happy and exciting day.
The couple exchanged vows and rings in the beautiful Prospect United Methodist Church. The church had gorgeous windows and a lovely decor and we used it for our portraits after the ceremony.
The reception was held at the Aqua Turf Club. Once the rain gave us a little break, we walked around the beautiful grounds of the venue and used the windmill, the stone bridge and the lit-up trees for our photos.
Guests arrived from all over the States and Canada to celebrate with Alison and James.
Dieter from Sounds Unlimited kept the dance floor packed all night with great music and some fun games. I absolutely loved Alison’s bouquet and the wedding cake.

Alison and James- thank you for letting me share this special day with you.
Wishing you much happiness!
