Baby, oh, (lens)baby!

Mariann February 18th, 2006

One of the items on my Christmas wishlist was a special lens, called lensbaby.
One can create one of a kind images with this lens and many times the results are very surprising.
Since I got this lens for Christmas (thank you Santa Anthony!), this is only the second time I played around with it. It’s dramatically different from all the other lenses I have as you can bend this lens, push it, pull just to get something in focus.
I also need a lot more patience with this lens because it doesn’t always want to do what I want to create.
Anyway, here are some of the images I took randomly around the house.
Let me know your thoughts!!

The wedding site is live!!!

Mariann February 17th, 2006

I’m super excited!!

The wedding website I have been working on the last 3 1/2 months went live this week! It has been a labor of love. Literary. 8)
The site has an easy-to-navigate interface and large images which I thought was very important. I tried to put together a cross selection of images that best represent my work and creative style.

Please visit the site and let me know what you think! You like it, you don’t like it, what do you think is the best part, are there any boring parts, etc….
I would like to hear it all!!!

Christina and Andy’s wedding album was finished this week and it turned out beautifully.
The album is a 10″x10″ flush album designed magazine style with 26 pages and is covered with sage color glove leather.
The couple chose gold for the gilding and the inprinting.

Flushing Meadows Corona Park, NY

Mariann February 12th, 2006

I went to Flushing Meadows Corona Park, Queens to do a photo assignment.
If you visit New York City and you have a chance to get to the other boroughs such as Queens, this park should be on your must see list.
The park was hosting the World’s Fair in 1964-65, and now is home for the Unisphere, the Queens Museum of Art, the New York State Pavilion, etc.
I love the Unisphere, which is the largest globe in the world-you can see it from the subway, from several highways and from a long distance. It’s an official New York City landmark. Queens is the perfect place for the Unisphere because in this borough many different nationalities live from all over the world.
There’s a fountain under the Unisphere but during the winter the water is shot off so a lot of kids skate and rollerblade under the globe.
This park was also used in movies such as Men in Black.

New products: Custom photo greeting cards

Mariann February 11th, 2006

I am always very excited about offering new products. At the end of last year I started to design custom collages and greeting cards. The greeting cards include birth announcements, thank you cards, save the date cards, holiday cards and other designs.
The samples below are designed as 4″x6″ but other sizes are available as well. The cards can be printed as a postcard with two sides or as greeting cards with four sides. All sides can be used for images or text.
Here are a few birth announcement designs:
